You don’t need a Japanese bank account.
You don’t need a hanko.
A credit card is all it takes.
Some people give up before they even start, assuming that joining a gym in Japan is complicated for a foreign resident. It isn’t. This page walks you through every screen, with pictures.
About 10 minutes, from your phone.
What you’ll need
・A credit card
・An email address
That’s it. No bank account, no seal, no paperwork.
STEP 0 — Turn on translation first
The sign-up screens are in Japanese. Your browser can fix that in one tap.
iPhone (Safari) — tap the ぁあ icon at the left of the address bar → Translate to English
Chrome — tap the ⋮ menu → Translate
Everything below assumes you’ve done this. If parts of the page stay in Japanese, the pictures below show you exactly what goes where.
STEP 1 — Create your account
The screenshots below are filled in with an example, so you can see what belongs in each box. The blue labels are our notes — they won’t appear on your screen.

Your name in katakana
The form asks for your name in katakana — the Japanese script used for foreign names. Find yours below, or something close. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
Michael → マイケル Sarah → セーラ
David → デイビッド Emily → エミリー
Nguyen → グエン Tran → チャン
Kim → キム Lee → リー
Chen → チェン Wang → ワン
Jose → ホセ Maria → マリア
Ahmed → アハメド Fatima → ファティマ
Smith → スミス Johnson → ジョンソン
Can’t find yours? Send us a message and we’ll write it out for you.

Emergency contact
We ask for someone in Japan we can reach if anything happens while you’re training. For 続柄 (relationship), copy one of these:
母 (mother) 父 (father)
妻 (wife) 夫 (husband)
友人 (friend)

STEP 2 — Choose your plan
Scroll down — there are more plans below the first few. These are the two most people choose:
Full-time ¥11,000 / month
Any time we’re open — 6:15 to 21:45, every day of the year.
Weekday Daytime ¥6,600 / month
Weekdays until 5 PM.

STEP 3 — Enter your card, and you’re done
Add your credit card details and confirm. Your membership starts right away, and you can come train the same day.
Stuck anywhere?
Send us a message. Write in whichever language you’re most comfortable with — English, Japanese, or your own. We’ll reply in the same language.
And if you’d rather not do it alone, just come to the gym. We’ll finish it together at the front desk — it takes about five minutes.
